BPPV/Vertigo

We see it time and time again—how disruptive and uncomfortable the symptoms of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) can be. BPPV is a common cause of vertigo, which can lead to feelings of dizziness, nausea, lightheadedness, and unsteadiness. At SOMA, we’ve been trained to deal with this condition with a variety of treatments.
About this Treatment

Getting you back to feeling yourself

Our physical therapists are here to help you find relief from your symptoms. We use a series of specialized head movements to shift the particles in your ear that are causing your symptoms and restore your sense of equilibrium.

In addition to treating BPPV, we also offer a comprehensive balance program designed to help reduce feelings of unsteadiness and minimize the risk of falls. Our goal is to help you regain your confidence and improve your quality of life.

Why you would need BPPV physical therapy:

  • Dizziness
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Loss of balance or unsteadiness
  • Sensation of spinning or whirling
  • Blurred vision
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Light-headedness or fainting

Trusted health every step of the way

I’m happy to say I’m finally back to 100%…

The entire team here is incredibly helpful, friendly, thoughtful, and most importantly committed to your recovery. I came in to treat a shoulder injury I had been dealing with for a year that had been difficult to diagnose and which had not responded well to prior treatment. George worked with me to continuously adopt my treatment plan based on my stubborn shoulder with the ultimate goal of getting me back to all physical activities like sports and the gym I’ve been trying and failing to get back to at full strength. With George’s treatment and instruction I’m happy to say I’m finally back to 100%.

This place was really incredible…

This place was really incredible. Quiet, clean and well thought out office. The physical therapists were so attentive to your needs and were truly there to find whatever issue you had and work through it. I had only had the pleasure of a few physical therapy sessions because my issues were solved quickly but in the time that I did spend there it was used wisely. Not only were the therapists down to earth and nice but they didn’t waste a moments time trying to fix my issue. I hope my issue never comes back but if it does I know there is a place I can definitely go to. Thanks

Everybody there is warm and welcoming and extremely compassionate…

I was so lucky to find SOMA PT/OT after a terrible accident to my hand. Everybody there is warm and welcoming and extremely compassionate. The vibe in the whole place is relaxed yet dedicated to helping each individual and their needs. Specifically, my occupational therapist, Costa, has a natural ability to focus in and address the unique problem that requires help in the moment. I know I progressed for the better because of his expertise and desire to be beneficial. The second you walk in and meet Monina (a doll!) at the front desk, you know you’re in the best hands

George has worked wonders on knee…

I started coming to Soma in June of this year with a torn MCL. George has worked wonders on knee. Very mindful and considerate on how much to push forward without aggravating the injury. New exercises weekly to strengthen the knee and post surgery this has definitely helped. The other part which is great is that they’re super helpful on accommodating to your schedule and very helpful with dealing with the insurance companies. It’s an overall great experience I’m very happy that I found them.

I love Soma…

I love Soma. It’s so pleasant. Clean, Clean, Clean. The work they are doing on my left leg and side is phenomenal. I find it fun even through the pain of working out.

The therapy has been amazing…

I came to SOMA for a meniscus tear. The therapy has been amazing and I feel better after just a few weeks. I highly recommend SOMA to anyone.

I would highly recommend George and the practice in general…

I tore my ACL playing soccer. I started sessions with George pre and post op. He showed great support and compassion especially post op when pain was at its peak. He is very knowledgeable. He was excited to work with me and to get me better. I would highly recommend George and the practice in general; he is outstanding!!
